I didn’t even know there was going to be a series based on The Godfather let alone that Armie Hammer would be in it. Looks like we’ll all be seeing far less of Hammer for a while. But I guess if any time is a good time to recede into the bushes, now’s the time for Armie.
Kristen Stewart looks amazing as Princess Diana
I’m excited for Spencer because Kristen Stewart is one of my favorite actors. She can pull off most anything. Plus Sally Hawkins is in this too and who doesn’t love her?
“‘Spencer is a dive inside an emotional imagining of who Diana was at a pivotal turning point in her life,” said Stewart. “It is a physical assertion of the sum of her parts, which starts with her given name: Spencer. It is a harrowing effort for her to return to herself, as Diana strives to hold onto what the name Spencer means to her.”

Russell Crowe has some strong feelings about 'Master and Commander'
I get that critique is part of the deal, I mean look at the nonsense I write on here. But was it necessary to tag Russell Crowe in the Tweet? To be honest, I don’t like the movie much either but maybe that’s because I’m an immature hack, who knows.

Michael B. Jordan is directing now
Not only is this incredible actor (Creed, Black Panther, Fruitvale Station) taking parts with meaning and impact, he’s about to direct Creed III. He’ll still be in the movie as Adonis and Tessa Thomson’s back too. No word on Rocky (Sylvester Stallone) himself though. I hope Jordan knocks this one out of the park. I’d love to see that but I’ll be watching regardless.

First look at Coming 2 America (spoiler: everyone still looks fantastic)
If you’re not ready to travel back to Zamunda after looking at these movie stills, then I don’t know how to help you. I quote the original constantly and I have to say it’s kind of comforting to see Eddie Murphy and Arsenio Hall together again. Hell yes, take me back to a time when I wasn’t stressed out constantly, worried about global pandemic, crazy American politics and shut downs.

And a bonus video because now it’s stuck in my head, enjoy:
Tom Cruise completely lost it on crew members not following COVID-19 protocols
Not only did Tom Cruise go on a cursing tirade, one of the people in that room had the guts to record the whole damn thing and sell it to a tabloid. Unfortunately there’s no video, but the longer you listen, the more clearly you can envision the veins bulging out of his neck as he screams expletive after expletive at these people. While this outburst is on the extreme side, I can kind of see where the man’s coming from. Stay safe out there, people.

Warner Brothers will be releasing all their 2021 movies on HBO Max as well as in theaters
It’s not just Wonder Woman 1984 now, all of the 2021 film releases from Warner Brothers are going to debut on a streaming service (HBO Max) and in theaters simultaneously. From the article:
In a surprising break from industry standards, Warner Bros.’ entire 2021 slate — a list of films that includes “The Matrix 4,” Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune” remake, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s musical adaptation of “In the Heights,” “Sopranos” prequel “The Many Saints of Newark” and “The Suicide Squad” — will debut both on HBO Max and in theaters on their respective release dates. The shocking move to simultaneously release movies day-and-date underscores the crisis facing movie theaters and the rising importance of streaming services in the wake of a global health crisis that’s decimated the film exhibition community.
I sure hope this works because I don’t want to live in a world where the movies don’t survive. I wonder if after the pandemic is under control this business model will disappear or if it will stick. Personally, I love watching movies from home almost as much as I do a proper theater. However, I always want the option to go to a theater and watch something with a bunch of fellow movie lovers. I’d like for this simultaneous release to be the way moving forward, but I guess that will comes down to the bottom line.

Death is especially scary when you're staring it in the face
Julian Beck as Reverend Kane in Poltergeist 2 absolutely horrified me as a child. He was aggressive, haunting and invasive in a way that made my skin crawl. He was fantastic and he was dying at the time. I had no idea but boy does that make a lot of stuff click now that I look back on it. Did you know?

A female-driven war movie feels refreshing
Okay, so technically it's a thriller but it's centered around WWI espionage. That makes it a war movie in my book.
I love Joaquin Phoenix but no--hell no
It took eight years to produce this movie. Eight years is a long time. Some pets don't live that long. Also, Joaquin Phoenix and Matt Damon in the lead roles? I couldn't think of a more awful pairing. They're both fine actors; I full-on love Phoenix, but reality is reality.
