This looks fun, plus there's JK Simmons. Also, upon closer inspection, I see a couple of under appreciated faces in this trailer. Let's hope the ladies don't end up disposable sidekicks. Fingers crossed. Look for All Nighter in theaters on March 24th
Trailer: Lady Macbeth
Sex and murder? Done. I’m in. If the movie builds half as much tension as this trailer does, I won’t be sorry. Look for Lady Macbeth in theaters June 2nd.
Trailer: The Sense of an Ending
You know who else doesn't pop up all that often to lead movies? People over the age of 60, that's who. I like my movies varied in all aspects, so why not? This looks interesting because we've all got stuff we keep to ourselves and stuff we don't remember accurately anymore. Look for The Sense of an Ending in theaters on March 10th.
Trailer: The Secret Scripture
Vanessa Redgrave, Rooney Mara and the story of a woman with such inherent power that she had to be committed, in order to be "dealt with." I’m thinking I might want to read the book this is based on as well.
Trailer: Everybody Loves Somebody
I know I don’t usually post trailers for rom-coms, but this one interests me for a couple of reasons:
- This movie’s bilingual
- It portrays Mexicans (Mexican-Americans) doing normal stuff and not just rolling deep in gangs, cleaning something or being the token brown face in the crowd.
I speak Spanish and English, I'm Mexican-American and I'm a woman. Sadly, I don't see myself reflected back all that often in the American film industry, the same industry with which I'm clearly obsessed. It's a bummer and I think that should change. Plus, it's refreshing to see my people (<--Yes, I just said "my people," quit rolling your eyes.) doing things in movies that don't involve cleaning mansions or dealing drugs. I've been asking for more movies like this, so I might as well give this one a shot. Don't worry; i'll let you know if it's any good. Look for Everybody Loves Somebody in theaters February 17th.
Trailer: The Eyes of My Mother
This looks terrifying and the mood reminds me of Audition. A visually sophisticated horror movie always gets me. The Eyes of My Mother hits theaters on November 18th.
