No. Wrong answer. Maybe instead of letting people indulge in rude behavior when they're at the movies, give them a better experience and fewer reasons to get bored while waiting for their movie to start. There are theaters that offer beer and wine as well as dinner options with their screenings. How about that? Encouraging people to be distracted during a movie isn't going to work for them or anyone around them. Keep brainstorming, AMC.
There are no "Suicide Squad" reshoots
Everyone can breathe a sigh of relief now. There was no Batman v Superman domino effect. It was all a lie (or a rumor depending on how you want to look at it).

A sequel to The Shining?
It looks like that just might be the case. There's no director yet, but Akiva Goldsman has signed on to adapt Doctor Sleep (the sequel Stephen King wrote for The Shining). I always keep my fingers crossed for an upcoming sequel, but I never get my hopes up too high. Rarely does this sort of thing pan out. I don't think the film version of The Shining needs a sequel and I don't understand why movie makers can't just leave the classics alone. Oh wait, money. That's why. My fault. Carry on.

Paul McCartney is going to be in the next 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie
Yep. You read that right. I'm mostly speechless, but I do have one question. Maybe you can help me. Are franchises really meant to live forever? I thought nothing was eternal.

Some theaters are banning young kids from R-rated movies, even if they showed up with an adult.
I can understand if this pisses off some of the parents out there, but it's pretty awkward when you're an adult at an R-rated film and a little one starts talking loudly, yelling or even questioning the things that are happening on screen. I say awkward, but what I mean is annoying. Some places just weren't meant for small children. Thoughts?

The Brainwashing of My Dad's theatrical release (NY & LA) is happening this week.
I've known about this one for a long time and since I'm big on politics and current events, I've been deeply interested from the start. Sadly, I wasn't in town when this premiered at the Cinequest Film Festival here in San Jose, but I can't wait to catch it when it finds wider distribution. For now, the NY and LA premiers are set for this Friday, March 18th.

The Beetlejuice Sequel is Happening
I don't know how I feel about this, guys. I loved the original and yes, sometimes good sequels are made (Hello, Godfather II), but this feels unnecessary. Hopefully Tim Burton, Winona Ryder and the all mighty Michael Keaton will prove me wrong. Fingers crossed.

Maybe someone should tell those freaked out movie executives that everyone in the music industry said the same thing back when Napster first gained popularity. They said it again when iTunes became the staple that it is today. Despite the advances in convenience, the music industry survived. I'm willing to bet, if Sean Parker's idea comes to fruition, the movie industry will do the same.
