We don’t often see movies about women in their 40s let alone superhero movies about middle aged women so this is exciting. As a woman in her 40s myself, I almost feel obligated to check this out. The buddy chemistry seems to check out so things are looking promising.
In a world where supervillains are commonplace, two estranged childhood best friends reunite after one devises a treatment that gives them powers to protect their city.
I’ve been a fan of the video game since day one. When I was a kid, I used to save up all my change just so I could hit the arcade after school and play Mortal Kombat for hours. However, I’ve never had even the slightest desire to see any of the movies based on the game, that is until now. I’m here for the ultra gruesome fatalities. I’m here for the campy humor. And since I didn’t get to see too much of her in the trailer, I’d like to see how badass Mileena is in the movie. Hopefully Katana makes an appearance too.

I like Emma Stone’s work and because of her participation I was always interested in how this movie would end up looking and feeling. So, while I was always curious, I gotta say I wasn’t ready to be immediately sucked into the story behind Cruella with just one trailer. Yes, Emma Stone looks fantastic but the fact that the story revolves around the very dark nature of this Disney character is what really grabbed my attention.

A live-action prequel feature film following a young Cruella de Vil.
I usually try to stay away from movies with an ensemble cast like this but Allison Janney, Awkwafina and Regina Hall in one movie caught me off guard. And I like that.

True crime and possible supernatural elements? There could be nothing more up my alley. The Cecil Hotel is pretty famous for awful reasons and I’ve been interested in finding out more about it for years. Well it looks like Netflix has answered my subconscious call with a four part docuseries on The Cecil Hotel. The first episode delves into the Elisa Lam case, the case associated with that creepy video of her hiding in an elevator and acting as if someone or something is after her. Elisa eventually went missing and before long turned up dead. This is the trailer for the episode that focuses on her case as it unfolds at the Cecil Hotel.
