I don't know what I was expecting from a Spike Lee movie called BlacKkKlansman, but hilarious probably wasn't at the top of that list, and yet, here we are. The hard "H" gag alone is reason enough to see this movie. Look for 'BlacKkKlansman' in theaters on August 10.
Trailer: Beautiful Boy
Got emotional pretty early on in the the trailer. That's a good sign but only if you're a sap and like sappy things. Look for 'Beautiful Boy' in theaters on October 12.
Trailer: Juliet, Naked
Sometimes the movies are questionable, but Rose Byrne is always pretty great. Also, Ethan Hawke will always make me look on account of that whole Before Trilogy thing. That feels like enough for me to give this one a shot. Look for 'Juliet, Naked' in theaters on August 17.
Trailer: A Star Is Born
Bradley Cooper directs and stars alongside Lady Gaga in 'A Star is Born.' I didn't even know Cooper was a director. That's probably because this is his first stab at it. He's got another project in production, but that's another topic for another day. One more interesting thing I didn't know about this movie, Dave Chapelle is in it. What more do you need? Look for 'A Star is Born' in theaters on October 5.
Trailer: Down a Dark Hall
I don't know if I haven't seen enough of Uma Thurman doing accents, but damn, she's good. Also, why not indulge in a scary story that revolves around a bunch of angry chicks at a boarding school for girls who like to break laws? 'Down a Dark Hall' is scheduled for release on August 17.
Trailer: Papillon
Raimi Malek is in a another upcoming movie, this time alongside Charlie Hunnam. In 'Papillon' they're convicts who team up to escape life on an island, a penal colony. Neither one of them can face eternity on this island so they work together to find a way off. The movie is based on the autobiographical accounts in "Papillon" and "Banco." Look for 'Pappillon' in theaters September 7.
