It's not a prequel, sequel, reboot or remake, so I'll probably watch this. I wonder what the accidental death rate would be for someone who is five inches tall. OK now I'm trying to sort out logistics so I'll definitely watch this. I have so many questions. Downsizing hits theaters December 22nd.
Trailer: I, Tonya
Margot Robbie intrigues in just about everything she does. I didn't expect that but I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I love when talented actors sneak up on you. Robbie aside, I sort of love how brash Tonya Harding is and can't wait to see what a dramatization of an already melodramatic shit show looks like with Robbie in the lead role. Look for I, Tonya in theaters on December 8th.
Trailer: Beatriz at Dinner
I'm all over this for myriad reasons. Chief among those: There's a Mexican woman in this movie and she's not cleaning anything. Plus, c'mon, could this be any more apropos? Look for Beatriz at Dinner in theaters June 9th.
Trailer: The House I Live In
"You have to understand the war on drugs has never been about drugs." That explains this entire documentary in a nutshell. The war on drugs is a carefully constructed, slow moving, self-destruct system. And that's all I have to say about that. This is an older documentary from 2012, so you can watch it on Amazon, Google Play, YouTube and iTunes. It's also playing on cable if you have access to Viceland.
Trailer: We Are the Flesh
This one's a Mexican horror movie and it's supposed to be intense. That's all I needed before I clicked the trailer. I'm glad I clicked the trailer. This looks fairly twisted and I tend to appreciate that sort of thing. We Are the Flesh is in currently in limited theatrical release. Check your local lisstings. Official Release Date: 13 January 2017
Trailer: I Am Not Your Negro
Maybe it's time for people to stop rolling their eyes every time someone brings up race. Maybe it's time for all of us to listen. Maybe. Or we can cover our eyes, look away and pretend none of this ever happened. Again. Maybe this time doing the same thing we always do will result in something different. Maybe. Look for I Am Not Your Negro in theaters on February 3rd.
