Not Breaking, but Interesting News
13 July 2015
You have no idea how much I want to laugh & dance around this news, merrily like a sprite in an animated film, but alas, I cannot. Trump is a chump because he thinks my people (Mexican immigrants make up the majority of my family and 100% of my parents) are nothing more than a bunch of opportunist rapists that bring drugs, disease and mayhem into this country. Despite this big-mouthed bigot incessantly insulting Mexican immigrants, El Chapo Guzman is the one who has done the real damage to the people of Mexico. He’s held my family’s homeland hostage for years. He and those that deal in his trade have made innocent people "disappear" by the thousands. They’ve fostered an environment so unequal in power, wealth and representation that good, hard-working people have fled in droves. So I can’t celebrate Trump being knocked down a peg by a bonafide Mexican, not this time. What I can do is a little jig every time companies like Univision, NBC and the Macy's sever ties with bigots masquerading as powerful businessman.
BONUS LINKS “Following Sunday's news that Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman had tunneled out of prison, the GOP candidate unleashed a Tweetstorm in which he claimed the kingpin's escape vindicated his controversial comments that Mexico sends criminals and rapists to America.” For a fun activity picture these tweets in your mind when you read the above story. It always makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
I don’t really see how a sharing economy limits. Giving people the freedom to make money on the side doesn’t threaten regular Joes like you and me. What it does is provide people with options while nipping away steadily at established moneymaking models. Change is scary, but in this case, it’s not the enemy. I might not agree with Uber’s surge charging practices, but I’m all for giving people options. This “gig-economy” feels more empowering than threatening.
This is way more interesting than any soap opera. Also, since it’s happening in my back yard, I’m doubly invested. Did Pao take the fall? Well, the answer seems pretty cut and dry, judging by that statement. Where are you putting your money?
Anyone know about next steps regarding the eradication of racism now that the damn Rebel flag has fallen out of favor with the majority of vocal Americans online? Oh and for the record, hate is everybody's problem.
If only we could show this article to every kid every time we see them growing up too fast and have them understand regardless of age or reading comprehension level. Or, I could just show them the stuff I’ve colored.
A little late to the party, but welcome nonetheless, Boy Scouts of America.
